Welcome

Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to the 8th International Conference on the Mechanisms of Anesthetics (MAC2010). The conference will take place at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus, from June 15 to 18, 2010. A welcome reception will be held at the University of Toronto on the first evening of the conference (June 15).

Historically, the MAC conference takes place every four or five years, providing a forum for discussing significant advances in our understanding of the mechanisms of anesthetics. As has been the tradition in previous years, selected speakers are invited to present at the plenary sessions,  which everyone attends. Evening workshops and daily poster sessions provide opportunities for all delegates to present and discuss their recent results. As for previous conferences, all participants are expected to cover their own expenses.

The conference will be held in the heart of the academic community at the University of Toronto, at the Medical Science Centre. This location is within walking distance from many major hotels and restaurants. Toronto is Canada’s largest city and a popular tourist destination, with world-class theatre, entertainment attractions and easy bus access to Niagara Falls.

The conference will provide us with the opportunity to learn about the latest advances, gain knowledge from each other and, most importantly, strengthen ties in the anesthesia research community. We hope to see you in Toronto in June 2010!

Yours sincerely,
